AVG Email Scanner with file extension avgemc.exe is a feature that is included in the software that installs AVG Internet Security. Just as its name suggests, the file executes a process that specifically targets viruses that are sent to unsuspecting users via electronic mail. This is particularly useful for emails that come with attachments. Before the user downloads or opens the attachment, the process scans the files to ascertain that they do not contain any form of virus or malicious software. If the file is found to be risky, the process alerts the user so they can immediately delete the email. With the suspicious email out of the inbox, the user avoids the risk of accidentally opening the malicious email.
