The executable process file, autoupdater.exe (version 1.0.0.0), is part of the software Autoupdater, or YourUninstaller (version 2006 version 5) by Agence-Exclusive or PCTuto or NSG. There are a variety of names associated with the process file that includes: Secure Update, Automatic Update Service, Configurator Auto-Update, JX Online Auto Update, Auto Update MFC Application, BnB Auto Update, Spy Fighter Auto Update or TODO: Auto Update 2. The process file is part of software Cisco Systems Inc. AutoUpdate, EMBASSY Security Center, BnB AutoUpdate Application, MPlayer for Windows, Amadeus Automatic Update Application, JX Online Auto Update Application or Security Wizards as developed by Wave Systems, Vinagame JSC, Amadeus, Cisco Systems, SB Soft or TODO: YNK. Several features of the process file include that of not being visible, neither is it considered as a Windows system file. It is located in subfolder C:\Program Files, (C:\program files\autoupdate). Upon start up of Windows, the process file begins with the following Registry Keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\User Shell Folders, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\RunOnce, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run, HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run, and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run. On Windows 7/XP, the file size is 34,816 bytes on 33% of all occurrences.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. autoupdater.exe. is used by autoupdater, If you shut down autoupdater.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start.
