Windows NT Font Driver Helper is the term used as the service name of the process atmhelpr.sys, which is a driver or SYS file, and a part of the software product branded as Adobe Type Manager Deluxe, which is developed by Adobe Systems Incorporated. During the installation process of the program, the atmhelpr.sys file is among the components that are added into the computer system, stored on a file folder, and registered into the Windows registry. Once it has been successfully downloaded, the atmhelpr.sys file starts to run as a background service, and as a Windows process, it work in certain versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, otherwise known as Windows operating systems, or Windows OS, including later versions, such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME, which are created by Microsoft Corporation.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. atmhelpr.sys. is used by Adobe Type Manager Deluxe, If you shut down atmhelpr.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop atmhelpr.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Adobe Type Manager Deluxe, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as Adobe Type Manager Deluxe, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message.
