What is atm.exe
Advanced Task Manager is the service name of the process atm.exe, which is an instance of an executable or EXE file, and a component of the software product labeled as Advanced Task Manager, which is developed by Innovative Solutions. When the program is downloaded onto the computer, the atm.exe file is added into the system, and as a digitally signed module (Innovative Solutions Grup SRL - VeriSign Time Stamping Services Signer), this process needs to remain running in the background. In addition, the atm.exe file is compatible with most versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, otherwise known as Windows operating systems, or simply Windows OS, including later or new versions, such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME, which are known program series created by Microsoft Corporation for desktop PCs or laptops.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. atm.exe. is used by Advanced Task Manager, If you shut down atm.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop atm.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Advanced Task Manager, from your system.
