Also known by the name ASLDR Service, the asldrsrv.exe file is associated with the program ATK Hotkey (also called as ADSMSrv or ATK Package), which is a product developed by ASUS. First of all, ATK Hotkey is a type of software that is used to enable function key shortcuts and control them, and normally installed in many models of ASUS laptops and notebooks. A user is able to control the functions of the hotkeys by pressing the key FN (Function) to activate the F Keys. As part of the program, ASLDR Service, which is launched by the file asldrsrv.exe, is an important component that permits this particular task, enabling the control or activation of hotkeys. Therefore, the file asldrsrv.exe needs to be remained stored on the computer system, particularly in the folder C:\Program Files, also sometimes in C:\Windows or C:\Documents and Settings, to provide its function in allowing the program ATK Hotkey kept enabled.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. asldrsrv.exe. is used by ATK Hotkey, If you shut down asldrsrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop asldrsrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ATK Hotkey, from your system.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
