What is  aro.exe

The aro.exe process is the executable file for ARO, an optimization and repair software for the maintenance of Windows computers. ARO is designed to improve and maintain Windows computers running in 32- and 64-bit operating systems. ARO finding errors that are hiding in the system registry, identifies PC and browser clutters that hinders performance while ensuring that the PCs have sufficient and updated security. ARO has an advanced scanning that identifies and repairs registry errors. It also searches and removes empty and unusable files that have accumulated over time and may have been putting a damper on the PC performance. ARO has 3 main areas: (1) Registry, which scans 13 areas of system registry of errors, (2) Junk, scans 10 areas of the system and frees up disk space upon removal of unusable files and clutter, and (3) Security, which scan confirms updated software such as antivirus, firewall, anti-spyware, and checks the operating system configuration.

How can I stop aro.exe and should I?

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. aro.exe. is used by AROReminder, If you shut down aro.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop aro.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is AROReminder, from your system.
