This executable file algsrv.exe is a process known as part of the software FireWall Files by Microsoft. It is a part of the program that can be implemented in both hardware and software. Firewall Files is planned to prevent unapproved user entrance to or from private networks in the internet. The software monitors all communications in and out the intranet, a network created on TCP/IP protocols owned by an organization available only to its members and authorized groups. Those who did not meet the required security standards will be blocked by the Firewall. The Firewall Files uses several techniques including packet filtering, security machines gateway application, circuit-level gateway application, and as a proxy server. Conversely, most antivirus programs consider algsrv.exe also as a malware with Kaspersky identifying it as Virus.Win32.Texel.a and TrendMicro as WORM_VB.CKH or WORM_VB.ERF. This is due mainly to a faulty installation or invasion of malicious process propagating across networks and into the client machine.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. algsrv.exe. is used by FireWall Files, If you shut down algsrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop algsrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is FireWall Files, from your system.
