The alcwzrd.exe process is used by the Realtek Audio cards in order to support devices that are connected to the computer system. This process is related to the ReakTek high definition audio hardware driver. The alcwzrd.exe file is executable that fundamentally functions to launch the RealTek audio driver application in order to detect upcoming and new audio devices as soon as they are plugged in, in which a pop-up will appear to inform the user of the newly found hardware devices. This EXE file is not associated with Microsoft as it is not a part of the core files of the Windows system. On the system tray, an icon is available to be accessed in order to operate the alcwzrd.exe file. Upon installation, the RealTek audio driver application is accessible through the icon and will display a visible window upon clicking the icon. The alcwzrd.exe process is safe to run at startup because it does not require a lot of resources and the user can manually start its process.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. alcwzrd.exe. is used by RealTek Audio, If you shut down alcwzrd.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop alcwzrd.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is RealTek Audio, from your system.

A process usually a part of an installed application such as RealTek Audio, or your operating system that is responsible for running in functions of that application. Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
