The process adu.exe, which is a type of an executable or EXE file, is named as Aironet Desktop Utility as its service name, and is a part of the software product labeled as Cisco Aironet Installation, also ADU, which is created by Cisco. During the installation of the program that houses the file, adu.exe is installed by storing itself in a file folder location, usually in C:\Program Files, or sometimes found in C:\Windows or C:\Documents and Settings, registering into the Windows registry with a run identifier and an execution command, and then starts to run in the background to execute itself, or perform its function that completes the overall task of the application. The adu.exe, which is also digitally signed by Systweak Inc - Symantec Time Stamping Services Signer - G3, is compatible with most or all versions of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, otherwise known as Windows OS, including Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 2000, Windows NT, and Windows ME.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. adu.exe. is used by Cisco Aironet Installation or ADU, If you shut down adu.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop adu.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Cisco Aironet Installation or ADU, from your system.
