The actsrv.exe executable is a malware. A malware is utilized by computer hackers to collect sensitive information from private and business individuals in order to get to the target’s computer. Malwares have many classifications and types. Some are called viruses, others are called key loggers. Some are known as spywares, adware, and Trojan horses. A malware can be planted in a user’s computer by downloading unreliable software from the website either sent through e-mail, personal messages, and even images. A malware does not come from only one source but from different sources. It is a hacker’s tool for personal or business interest. There is a difference between a virus and a worm in terms of activity. A virus can be user initiated while worms are not and they can infect one computer to another in a network. Constant downloading of software and browser plugins is what exposes a user to malware attacks.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. actsrv.exe. is used by Active Common Service, If you shut down actsrv.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop actsrv.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Active Common Service, from your system.
