Filter Driver ProtectDisc, also termed as acedrv09, is the service name of the file process acedrv09.sys, and a component of the program ACEDRV09, which is developed by Protect Software GmbH. This file is installed once the software is downloaded onto the Windows computer, laptop, or notebook. It is recommended to keep it stored on the folder location, usually in C:\Program Files, if not in C:\Documents and Settings, or C:\Windows, or probably in another place, but wherever it is located, this file must remain there. If the file is terminated or stopped, it can cause the function to not properly work, or possibly disable the entire software. Unless it is not giving any problems or errors that affect the performance of the system, acedrv09.sys must be kept running in the background. As a type of driver file, this process is compatible with most versions of Windows Operating Systems by Microsoft Corporation, which include Windows 7, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. acedrv09.sys. is used by ACEDRV09, If you shut down acedrv09.sys, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop acedrv09.sys, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is ACEDRV09, from your system.
