The abyssws.exe file, also known as Abyss Web Server X1, is a non-system web server application that operates on UNIX and Windows-based systems. Its main task is to start the web server. This is part of IrfanView. The process is developed by Aprelium and Aprelium Technologies as a main component of AbyssWebserver, a shareware webserver. This process should not be removed is using ABYSS web server since this is used by AbyssWebserver, an application created by Moez Mahfoudh and can run at the start up. Like other non-system processes, this process originates from software installed in the system and can be stopped since not essential for running the PC operating system (except when using ABYSS web server). To permanently remove or stop this process, a user should uninstall AbyssWebServer from the system. This is a non-intensive process for the CPU. The security rating depends on the file location.

Most non-system processes that are running can be stopped because they are not involved in running your operating system. abyssws.exe. is used by Abyss Web Server, If you shut down abyssws.exe, it will likely start again at a later time either after you restart your computer or after an application start. To stop abyssws.exe, permanently you need to uninstall the application that runs this process which in this case is Abyss Web Server, from your system.

After uninstalling applications it is a good idea to scan you Windows registry for any left over traces of applications. Registry Reviver by ReviverSoft is a great tool for doing this.

Some application require that they have processes running all the time so they can do things such as check for updates or notify you when you get an instant message. Some poorly written applications have many processes that run that may not be required and take up valuable processing power within your computer.
