A font is another name for a specific typeface that your computer uses, such as Arial, Helvetica, and so on. A computer full of invalid font entries in your Windows Registry, with no actual corresponding font installed, can crash specific applications.

Especially if your machine has a solid state drive rather than a hard drive, you may be looking at only a few gigabytes of storage for everything you have. Plus, hard drives crash, costing you everything. You’re going to want a place to put stuff away from your computer. Also, it would be nice to be able to access the same versions of the same files from multiple PCs.
The Outlook is Not So Good

If you’ve got an old machine, and there are a ton of old machines out there in the business world, Microsoft Outlook can eat up a ton of your computer’s processor! I had a job once where you couldn’t have Outlook open and something else at the same time, or the PC would slow to a crawl. There’s got to be another way, even for business users.
Stepping Out of Your Office
by Steve March 11th, 2011Microsoft Office is pretty much the industry standard. Anyone, anywhere wants a document from you, odds are they want a Word doc. If they want a spreadsheet, they want it in Excel format. And who uses another presentation app besides PowerPoint? Unfortunately, Microsoft Office often isn’t included in new PCs, or is only included as a feature-free starter edition or limited trial. And picking up Microsoft Office, unless you’re a student, can be really expensive!
