How do I create my webcam?

If you want to use your Compac webcam, follow the steps below.
1. Turn on your computer.
2. Candidate c lick the Start menu icon and type "quickplay" in the search field.
3. Click the "QuickPlay" listing that appears in the results. Alternately, press "QuickPlay" located near the laptop screen.
4. Click the "Video" icon in the QuickPlay interface that opens, then double-click the "HP Webcam" option in the "Source" window. The image of your webcam will appear on the screen.
5. Click on the "Record" button to start recording a video and click Stop if you want to stop recording.
If did not find this or record using the method posted above, use the free software tool below to record your webcam.

00Hi John,
Many laptops now come with an integrated camera, located above the screen, at its centre. You can usually open the web camera by going to Start and typing webcam in the search bar.
In the list that appears, there should be a camera or web cam option to select. If you can't find your web camera, follow the steps below:
1. Click the Start button, located at the bottom left of the screen.
2. Open the Control Panel (as shown in red below).
3. Select Hardware and Sound.
4. Open Device Manager and double-click on Imaging Devices. Your webcam should be listed there.
Another way to activate a laptop web camera is to start using it through an instant messenger service like Skype, Yahoo, MSN or Google Talk. These applications support video chat and should open up the webcam.
